I have not seen the internals of the GT Superlace hub, but that is not what it is most known for. The spoke holes are drilled in such a fashion as to allow all of the spokes to be laced on one side of the flange. In the picture they are all laced on the outside for added rigidity, but in modern times, the hub would be laced entirely on the inside of the flange (to protect the spokes from grind damage).
