Geisha Maintenance 2

Here is the description of gr_paul from www.bikeguide.org :

This past weekend I took my Geisha apart,
and removed the 3 washers to give it more slack.
also to grease the inside good.
I took pics before and after,
to show how much slack comes stock & with
the 3 spacers removed.

I ended up buying a 19 mm cone wrench, cause
one of the studs was loose and I couldn’t get the wheel
off my bike. Impossible without one.

Take your time taking the hub apart,
remember how everything goes.

to get the geisha apart....

-take off both side studs
-turn out the driver
-rubber hammer the axle out from the drive side
-remove bearing on non drive side
-remove spacers (not the hat spacer) from the axle
-grease the driver
[this is the threads. Also, don’t forget to grease the clutch right above the spring, and the back side of the clutch where it runs back into that spacer. p.w.]
reassemble (make sure everything is seated nice)

Here is the amount of slack you are given by taking out the three washers in the hub with a normal ~ 2.75 gear ratio.

That is almost double the slack...
